Dobiesz got Montclair State on the board just over the three-minute mark with her first collegiate tally as she smacked in pass from Swartz on the left side of the cage for a 1-0 lead. Soss extended the advantage 1:58 later off a penalty corner. Tanis inserted the pass off the corner to Soss, who collected the ball and fired a shot from 12 yards out that banged into the lower left corner.

Dobiesz was able to deflect the shot toward the far side as the Red Hawks took a 3-0 lead into halftime. MSU outshot Scranton in the period, 17-1.

In the second half, Swartz would record her second goal of the year at the 47:40 mark. Tanis slid a pass from left-to-right onto the stick of Swartz, who then stuffed the ball in from three yards out.

MSU goalkeepers JACQUIE SUPKO ( Moorestown , NJ / Moorestown ) and JACKIE DERICCO ( Belmar , NJ /St. Rose) each played a half as the duo combined on the shutout. Goetz made nine saves in the first half before giving way to Calabrese, who stopped seven over the final 35 minutes.
