CHRISTYN SCILLIERI (Wayne, NJ / Wayne Valley) scored a pair of second-half goals and also added an assist as Montclair State won its second straight game an inched closer to the .500 mark as the Red Hawks knocked off New Jersey City, 3-2 in New Jersey Athletic Conference women's soccer action at Sprague Field on Saturday afternoon.

LIZA OFFREDA (East Rutherford, NJ / Midland Park) collected two assists for Montclair State, which improved to 6-7-1 overall this season and 5-2 in the NJAC. MSU is now 13-1 all-time against New Jersey City having won the last 12 meetings.
Freshman forward Jennifer Albuja ( Union City, NJ / Hoboken) scored both goals for the Gothic Knights, who dropped their second straight falling to 6-8 overall and 0-6 in the conference.
Despite registering 30 of the 34 shots in the game, it was the Gothic Knights who scored first as Albuja netted her conference-leading 20 th goal of the season on an unassisted tally. After battling an MSU defender for a loose ball, Albuja flipped a shot that caught MSU goalkeeper
LEAH TEPPERMAN ( North Andover, MA / North Andover) off her line for the goal and a 1-0 NJCU lead 15:50 in to the match. Montclair State would even the game five minutes later as Sisti registered her eighth goal of the season off a pass from Scillieri with 24:56 to play as the teams went into halftime deadlocked at 1-1.
In the second half, Montclair State would take the lead 1:22 into the half. Off a corner kick, Offreda served a perfect ball into the front of the net where Sisti received the pass and flicked the ball onto the toe of Scillieri, who banged home the shot just under the crossbar for her sixth goal of the year. The MSU lead would be short-lived as the Gothic Knights struck back 79 seconds later as Albuja scored again this time lofting a shot from the left side into the near corner of the goal, her 21 st.
Scillieri would give Montclair State the lead for good with her second of the game at the 51:59 mark. Offreda dribbled the ball down the right side before right-footing a cross toward the back post where Scillieri was there to head the ball in for the 3-2 MSU lead.
Kelly Reilly ( Pennsville, NJ / Pennsville Memorial) had nine saves for the Gothic Knights, who were outshot in the 30-4. Montclair State also held a 5-1 edge in corner kicks.
The Red Hawks are off until next Saturday, October 20 as MSU travels to Pomona, NJ to face Richard Stockton at 1:00 pm.
