Montclair, N.J. (February 28, 2007) – Oneonta outscored the Montclair State men's lacrosse team 8-1 in the second half en route to an 11-7 victory at Sprague Field in the season-opener.
A.J. Bachman opened the scoring just 3:21 into the game, but the Red Dragons tallied the next goals. Montclair responded with six consecutive tallies spanning the next two and a half quarters. The rally propelled the Red Hawks to a 7-3 lead edge with 6:24 left in the third period.
The Red Dragons didn't go away, and closed out the contest with the final eight tallies. Oneonta goalkeeper Nick Murray contributed in a big way, denying 17 shots including 10 in the final quarter.
Bachman registered three goals in the setback, while
EVAN WEHMEYER and
BRYAN KLIMCHAK each added two. On the back end,
ALLISTER EDWARDS forced four turnovers as
THOMAS BOWERS stopped 11 shots.
