Little Falls, NJ (5/11/07) – Junior third baseman Kelly Santry (Hatboro, PA/Upper Moreland) belted a grand slam and Maria DeBonis (Nazareth, PA/Notre Dame) cracked a solo homer as top seed Moravian College moved within one victory of a regional championship with a 9-2 victory over Montclair State in Game 9 of the 2007 NCAA Division III Softball Montclair, NJ Regional on Saturday morning.

Sophomore righthander Kristie Pellicani ( Sparta , NJ / Sparta ) tossed complete game with six strikeouts as the Greyhounds advance into Sunday's championship round. Moravian (34-5) has won 11 straight and needs just one victory on Sunday to earn its second trip to the NCAA Division III Softball Championship in Salem , VA on Friday, May 18. Moravian will make its fifth consecutive berth in the regional championship round and won the Mahwah, NJ Regional in 2004. Last year, the Greyhounds lost to Ramapo in the regional final at Salisbury , MD.

Freshman leftfielder KELLY NANCE (Marlboro, NJ/Marlboro) connected on a solo home run for Montclair State (37-7), which will face either No. 6 seed Staten Island or No. 4 seed Ramapo in an elimination contest at 2:00 pm on Saturday. The winner of that game will take on Moravian on Sunday needing to win twice to capture the regional crown.

Moravian powered its way into the title game as the Greyhounds collected 10 hits, including four for extra bases. The Greyhounds pushed across a run in the third as Katie Agnew ( Doylestown , PA / Lansdale Catholic) singled and went to second on a sacrifice. After MSU got the second out, Lauren Homa (Chalfont, PA/Central Bucks West) singled up the middle to bring home Agnew with the first run. The following inning, DeBonis drove the first pitch over the left field fence for her third home run of the year and second of the tournament.

The Greyhounds broke the game open in the fifth. Erica Klepeisz ( Nazareth , PA / Nazareth ) and Homa singled with one out. A pop up went for the second out, but DeBonis worked out a walk to load the bases. Santry followed with grand slam past the flagpole in left-centerfield for her second round-tripper of the year and the Greyhounds 17 th home run in the last 11 games.

Montclair State would get a run back in the bottom of the fifth as MEGAN DURKIN ( West Orange , NJ / West Orange ) tripled and scored on JACKIE FERRANTI's ( Bergenfield , NJ / Bergenfield ) RBI single. Another single by MAUREEN SHOCKLEY (Magnolia, NJ/Triton) put runners on first and second but Pellicani got out of the inning on a pair of fly balls.

Nance's fourth home run of the year in the sixth brought Montclair within 6-2, however Moravian tacked on three runs in the seventh on a Deanna Mangieri (Pleasantville, PA/Byram Hills) RBI single and a two-run double by Sheri Bieniek (Lumberton, NJ/Rancocas Valley).

Pellicani improved to 17-3 with the win as she allowed seven hits and walked three. Junior righthander CAROLYN MCCREA ( Wharton, NJ / Jefferson) took the loss to fall to 29-6. McCrea surrendered 10 hits, struck out two and walked four.

Santry, Homa and Klepeisz each had two hits for Moravian while Ferranti was 3-for-4 for Montclair State .
