Pietrunti put the Red Hawks on the board at 23:10 of the game as she scored off a penalty stroke. Off a penalty corner, Pietrunti put a shot on goal that was knocked away by defender Erica Sundberg (Mullica Hill, NJ / Kingsway). But off the scramble in front of the cage, MSU was warded a penalty stroke. Pietrunti stepped to the line and fired a shot into the back of the cage for the game's first goal.
From there, Wilkes picked up the play as they collected four penalty corners and nearly tied the game with 2:55 left in the period. Amanda Tilley (Coopersburg, PA/Southern Lehigh) got off a shot that was stopped by goalkeeper
JACQUIE SUPKO (Moorestown, NJ / Moorestown). The ball bounced around in front of the cage and Alyson Paulauskas (Shavertown, PA / Lake Lehman) got off two more that Supko saved and even had a third that went just wide.
Montclair State took the 1-0 lead into halftime despite being outshot in the half, 11-6.
In the second half, it took just 3:09 for Wilkes to get the equalizer. Lindsay Thomas (Wanamie, PA/Nanticoke) fired a shot from the top of the circle that Supko kicked away, however the ball remained in front of the cage and Keegan tapped in the rebound for her fourth goal of the year.
Montclair would regain the lead just over 10 minutes later as Pietruniti scored off a penalty corner. Walsh took control of the ball on the left side of the cage and flipped a shot to the opposite side where Pietrunti was standing to knock home the shot for her fourth of the year.
Wilkes goalkeeper Julia Smith (Matamoras, PA/Delaware Valley) made eight saves for Wilkes while Supko stopped seven shots. Montclair State held a 19-15 edge in shots and had 13 penalty corners to the Colonels' 11.
