Ewing, NJ (9/22/07) - Sophomore defender Matt Erny (Delran, NJ/Delran) added his first goal of the season and his career as the Lions of The College of New Jersey defeated No. 10 ranked Montclair State University 2-1 on Saturday afternoon in men's soccer in a NJAC match-up.
Prior to the game, the Red Hawks had not given up a single goal in eight previous outings and allowed two in the setback on Saturday. TCNJ is now 6-1-2 overall and 2-0-1 in the NJAC, while MSU drops to 7-1-1 overall and 2-1 in the league.
The loss was also Montclair State's first conference loss in 12 NJAC regular-season contests. The Red Hawks won their final game in 2005 and then went undefeated at 9-0 last season before capturing the first two conference games in 2007.

BRIAN MILES (Newtown, CT/Newtown) after the score was tied at 0-0 at the half. TCNJ answered back with a goal from sophomore Kevin Luber (Delran, NJ/Delran) at 64:34 off a header that hit the cross bar and he put in his own rebound in for his fifth goal of the season.
Erny would put in the game-winner as he converted the feed from Luber at 73:10 and lifted the Lions to the win.
In net for the Lions, senior Steve Scuttellaro (Brick, NJ/Brick Memorial) made blocked six saves, including two diving saves in the last 15 minutes of play to preserve the Lions' win. MSU's junior
