Wellesley, MA (9/8/07) – Freshman forward LIZA OFFREDA (East Rutherford, NJ / Midland Park) scored her first collegiate goal and sophomore NATALIA SISTI (Lincoln Park, NJ / DePaul) added an insurance goal 10 minutes later as Montclair State picked up its first win of the season with a 2-0 victory over Endicott, ranked 22 nd by D3Kicks.com, in the Wellesley Invitational on Saturday afternoon.

Sophomore goalkeeper LEAH TEPPERMAN (North Andover, MA / North Andover) made 10 saves in recording her first career shutout as the Red Hawks (1-2) move into the championship game against host Wellesley on Sunday, September 9 at 2:30 pm. MSU will be seeking its second consecutive Wellesley Invitational tournament title. Last year, MSU edged Wellesley 2-0 in the semifinals before topping Eastern Connecticut in the championship game.

Endicott outshot the Red Hawks in the first half, 9-4 but Montclair was able to keep the game scoreless as Teppeman made four saves in the first 45 minutes.

Scoreless at the half, Tepperman would make two more saves to open the second period before Montclair State finally got on the board. Off a corner kick, LARA KAMINSKI ( Rahway, NJ / Union Catholic) would collect a ball from KATIE MINERVINI ( Oceanport, NJ / Shore Regional) and slip a pass onto the foot of Offreda, who knocked in the shot for the first goal of the game at 56:36.

Just over 10 minutes later, the Red Hawks would extend the lead as Sisti registered her fourth goal in three games, scoring in the 67 th minute.

Endicott would outshoot Montclair State, 15-11 and had three of the five corner kicks in the contest.
