No. 4 Ursinus Tooples Field Hockey

Box Score Collegeville, PA (10/18/08) – Senior forward Jennie Moore (Phoenixville, PA/Phoenixville) had two goals, and two assists as fourth-ranked Ursinus (11-2) knocked off 16th-ranked Montclair State (8-5) 8-1 on Saturday afternoon in non-conference field hockey play.

Moore scored both her goals in the first half, as Ursinus won fifth straight. Moore started the scoring at 3:43, as she scored on a penalty corner. She then scored on another penalty corner at 24:45, off an assist from senior midfielder Kait Sutherland (Perkiomenville, PA/Perkiomen Valley).

Sutherland scored the first goal of the second half at 39:28, on an assist from senior back Katie Mastoris (Westampton, NJ/Rancocas Valley). Sutherland would assist on the fourth goal of the game at 43:14, as sophomore midfielder Michelle Wimmer (Palm, PA/Upper Perkiomen) scored.

The lead grew to 5-0 just 1:07 later as Moore assisted on a goal from junior forward Jessica Zatwarnicki (Reading, PA/Exeter). She then assisted on the next goal at 46:09, which was scored by freshman forward Alyssa Thren (Barto, PA/Upper Perkiomen).

Sophomore forward Taylor Bell (Mechanicsburg, PA/Mechanicsburg) scored at 60:55 on an assist from senior back Nikki Thren (Barto, PA/Upper Perkiomen).

Montclair State got on the board at 63 minutes even as sophomore defender JESSICA MURPHY (West Long Branch, NJ / Shore Regional) scored on an assist from junior midfielder MEGAN WALSH (Lumberton, NJ / Rancocas Valley) off of a penalty corner. Finally, Ursinus scored its last goal at 66:40 as sophomore midfielder Megan Yoder (Lititz, PA/Lancaster Mennonite) scored on a penalty corner.

Montclair will look to stop its five-game losing streak on Wednesday, October 22, as the Red Hawks host Kean University at Sprague Field beginning at 7:00 pm.
