Ewing, NJ (10/25/08) - The Montclair State men's and women's swimming and diving teams each dropped a dual meet to perennial Metropolitan Conference power The College of New Jersey on Saturday. Both teams fell to 0-2 as the men dropped a 148-128 decision to the Lions while the women's team lost 193.5-102.5.
For the Red Hawks, senior
JOHN ADAMS (Wharton, NJ/Pope John XXIII) took second in the 50 backstroke in 26.73, as well as second in the 50 freestyle (22.89) and third in the 100 backstroke in 57.92. Junior Tim Chambrovich (Allenhurst, NJ/Red Bank Regional) picked up second in the 100 butterfly in 55.08 and third in the 100 breaststroke in 1:05.42. Freshman diver
CHRIS DUMURO (Ridgewood, NJ/Westwood) took second in the one-meter event with a score of 116.17.
On the women's side, MSU won the 200 freestyle relay behind the efforts of freshman

GALINA LOUTCHOUK (Richboro, PA/Council Rock) won the 500 freestyle in 5:33.58 and Van Avery added a second in the 50 backstroke in 31.02.
Montclair State returns to action on Saturday, November 1 as the Red Hawks compete at the Union COllege Relays in Schenectady, NY.
