MSU Sweeps Ramapo for Third Straight Win

Mahwah, NJ (10/9/08)  – Junior KARA BURNHAM (Moorestown, NJ / Moorestown) collected nine kills while sophomore DEVON JOHNSTON (Moorestown, NJ / Moorestown) added seven kills and 14 digs as Montclair State defeated Ramapo College in three sets in NJAC action at the Bradley Center on Thursday evening.

KAREN MARTIN (Sicklerville, NJ / Washington Township) added five kills and four service aces as the Red Hawks improved to 14-9 overall, 5-1 in the NJAC with the 26-24, 25-19, 25-15 victory.

Sophomore KRISTEN RUGGIERI (Hillsdale, NJ/ Pascack Valley) added 22 assists.

 The Red Hawks tallied 16 service aces in the match to the Roadrunners two. CHRISTINE TOSKOVICH (Garfield, NJ / Garfield) and MEGHAN STEVENS (Woodcliff Lake, NJ / Pascack Hills) each had four as Montclair has totaled 40 in its last two matches and leads the NJAC with 212.

 Rookie Kayla Anders (Harrington Park, NJ) led the Roadrunners with ten kills and four blocks, while rookie Kim Runge (Closter, NJ) racked up 12 digs and recorded six kills.

Montclair State returns to action on Tuesday, October 14 as the Red Hawks host William Paterson in their final home match at the MSU Recreation Center. The match will be MSU's "Dig for the Cure" as the Red Hawks will be taking donations and selling T-Shirts to benefit the Susan G. Komen for the Cure Breast Cancer Fund.
