JENNIFER JIMENEZ (Linden, NJ / Linden) tied the MSU career record with her 30th home run and Red Hawk pitchers hurled another two shutouts as Montclair ran its winning streak to seven with wins over St. Norbert and Smith College at the Rebel Spring Games on Wednesday.

CAROLYN MCCREA (Wharton, NJ / Jefferson) tossed a three-hitter in the opener as Montclair edged St. Norbert, 2-0. Junior
KELLY KARP (Edison, NJ / Edison) and sophomore
ELIA PERSICO (Marlton, NJ / Cherokee) then combined on MSU's fourth straight shutout as the Red Hawks (7-1) blanked Smith College, 5-0.
Jimenez tied Kari McDonnell's (2002-05) mark for round-trippers as she went 3-for-4 in the win over Smith. Freshman
LESLIE GONZALEZ (North Bergen, NJ / North Bergen) was 3-for-3 with
MEGAN DURKIN (West Orange, NJ / West Orange) going 2-for-4. Karp went the first five innings as she imrpvoed to 3-0 on the year. Persico tossed two scoreless innings as MSU recorded its fifth shutout in eight games this season.
In the first game of the day, McCrea upped her record to 4-1 with her third consecutive shutout. The 2007 All-American, who set the career strikeout record on Tuesday, fanned 10 and walked one.
Montclair put a run on the board in the first. Jimenez singled with two out and that was followed by an RBI double from freshman catcher
KACIE NEUROUTER (Wayne, NJ / Wayne Valley). The Red Hawks added another run in the fifth. Senior third baseman
JACKIE FERRANTI (Bergenfield, NJ / Bergenfield) tripled with one out and came home on an RBI ground out by
MAUREEN SHOCKLEY (Magnolia, NJ / Triton).
The rest was left to McCrea, who retired nine of the first 10 batters she faced in picking up her 54th victory and her 21st shutout.
Montclair State concludes its trip to Florida on Thursday with a pair of afternoon contests at the Rebel Spring Games. The Red Hawks will face Allegheny College at 3:00 pm followed by a 5:00 pm matchup with Polytechnic.
