Montclair, N.J. (March 5, 2008) – The Montclair State men's lacrosse team topped Centenary 13-4 for their first win of the season.
MARIO PASSAFIUME and
TYLER MEIXNER opened the scoring before Centenary cut the lead in half. A.J. Bachman scored three of the next four goals as Montclair took a 6-2 lead entering halftime.
The Cyclones got within three 57 seconds into the third, but MSU tallied seven of the final eight goals of the afternoon to seal a victory. Montclair held a 45-27 edge in shots and a 37-18 advantage in ground balls.
Meixner registered a goal and five assists, with
BRYAN KLIMCHAK notching two goals and two assists. Defensively,
PATRICK FERRY,
COLLIN MARSH,
ANTHONY DZIENKIEWICZ, and
KEVIN O'BRIEN all chipped in two caused turnovers, with
THOMAS BOWERS making 10 saves.
