Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Women's Soccer, Ramapo Tie 1-1

Mahwah, NJ (10/15/08) – Freshman SYMONE SELDON (Trenton, NJ / Ewing) assisted on RACHEL SENYSZYN's (Succasunna, NJ / Roxbury) goal in the 25th minute to give Montclair State a lead however Ramapo answered with one in the second half and 20 minutes of extra trime could not produce a winner as the Red Hawks and Roadrunners battled to a 1-1 draw on Wednesday afternoon.

The two teams each earned one point in the conference standings.  The Roadrunners (7 points) stand at 5-7-2 overall and 2-3-1 in the New Jersey Athletic Conference while the Red Hawks (10 points), after the tie, stand at 7-6-1 overall, 3-2-1 in the conference.

The Red Hawks took a 1-0 lead at 24:49 after Senyszyn bounced a ball over the head of junior goalkeeper Jessica DaRold (Sayreville, NJ) off a cross from Seldon.  The goal was Senyszyn's eighth of the year while Seldon picked up her first career assist.

DaRold made six saves in the half as Montclair outshot Ramapo 12-1 in the first 45 minutes.

Ramapo tied the game just over seven minutes into the second half when sophomore forward Melissa Demko (East Brunswick, NJ) snuck a threw ball to fellow sophomore Kimberly Bruno (Middletown, NJ) scoring her fourth of the season.

Neither team could find the back of the net in the two 10-minute periods. DaRold and LEAH TEPPERMAN (North Andover, MA / North Andover) each made one save in the first overtime while DaRold came up with a save on the only shot on goal in the second.

DaRold finished the game with ten saves while Tepperman wrapped up the game with six of her own.

Montclair State returns to action on Saturday, October 18 as the Red Hawks host Richard Stockton at Sprague Field beginning at 6:00 pm.
