Scranton, PA (11/16/10) - Sophomore guard DEVIN FEENEY (Whippany, NJ / Whippany Park) scored 11 points as Montclair State lost a hard-fought battle with University Scranton, 58-46 in the season opener for both teams on Tuesday evening.

Senior forward KISANDRA AYANBEKU (Brockton, MA / Randolph) had nine points and nine rebounds for Montclair State (0-1), which battled back from several double-digit deficits in the game before the Royals pulled away in the final minute for the 12-point victory.

Sophomore guard RHONDA SHARIF (Cliffside Park, NJ / Cliffside Park) added eight points, five rebounds and three assists.

The Red Hawks return to action this weekend as Montclair takes part in the Chuck Resler Tournament at the University of Rochester on Saturday and Sunday. Montclair State will face Mount St. Mary on Saturday, November 20 at 3:00 pm. The consolation and championship games are slated for 3:00 pm and 6:00 pm, respectively on Sunday, November 21.
