Benack's Late Goal Leads Men's Soccer Past Rowan

Glassboro, NJ (9/19/09) – Back THOMAS BENACK (Sparta, NJ / Lenpae Valley) scored the game-winning goal with just over five minutes remaining in the second half to give 17th-ranked Montclair State University a 2-1 victory over Rowan University in a New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) game on Saturday.

With 5:23 remaining, midfielder MIKE KROL (jr. Howell, NJ/Howell) centered a pass into the box and Benack made a diving header, sending the ball into the left side of the net.

Montclair State is 6-0-1 overall and Rowan has a 4-2 record.  This week, the Red Hawks, who are unbeaten in their last 25 regular-season contests, are ranked third in the South Atlantic Region and 17th in the nation.  It was the first conference game of the season for both teams.
