Glassboro, NJ (9/26/09) – The Rowan University field hockey team came from behind to win 3-2 over Montclair State University in a New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) game on Saturday.
The Profs trailed 2-1 going into the second half. Forward Lauren Ross (jr. Gloucester City, NJ/Gloucester) tipped in a shot by back Sam Williams (jr. Collingswood, NJ/Collingswood) at 60:18 to tie the score. Forward Laura DiMenna (so. Glassboro, NJ/Glassboro) recorded the game-winner at the 63rd minute. She knocked in a rebound after a shot by midfielder Jenna Lombardo (sr. Barnegat, NJ/Southern Reg.).
Rowan improves to 4-3 overall and 2-0 in the conference. This week, the Profs are ranked 10th in the National Field Hockey Coaches Association Poll. Montclair State has a 5-3 record with a 0-1 NJAC mark.
