Stockton Shooting Too Much for MSU to Overcome

Pomona, NJ - Richard Stockton (10-3, 2-1 NJAC) shot 55% from the field in first half and never let up as the Ospreys rolled to their fourth consecutive victory, 77-54 over Montclair State (9-5, 2-2) on Saturday afternoon.  Pat Kelly (Cape May Court House/Wildwood Catholic) led the Ospreys with a season-high 16 points including four three-point baskets.

Santini Lancioni (Runnemede/Paul VI) chipped in with 14 points and five assists while teammate Kai Massaquoi (Lawnside/Haddon Heights) added 11 points and six assists.  DANIEL MCRAE (Orange/Newark Tech) led the Red Hawks with 11 points and JOHN BYRNE (East Brunswick/East Brunswick) chipped in with nine points.

Stockton scored the first five points of the game on a trey by Lancioni and a dunk by Massaquoi and never trailed in the contest.  The Ospreys raced out to a 13-point lead at the half at 36-23 behind eight steals and the blistering shooting of Kelly, who went 3-4 from beyond the arc for nine points.

In the second half, it was more of the same as the Ospreys widened their lead and never looked back.  Lancioni led the onslaught with 11 second-half points and Stockton led by as much as 29 in the strong performance.  The Ospreys' unselfish play was evidenced by 14 assists on their 28 baskets in the 77-54 win.

Stockton will travel to Hunter College on Monday at 6 p.m. while Montclair State travels to New Jersey City on Wednesday, January 13 for an 8 p.m. NJAC tilt.
