Annandale-on-Hudson, NY (4/10/10) – The Montclair State men's lacrosse team, ranked 19th in Division III, recorded the program's first shutout in eight years as the Red Hawks opened up Skyline Conference play with a 25-0 victory over Bard College on Saturday afternoon.
Sophomore
CHRISTOPHER KAMPF (West Allenhurst, NJ / Ocean Township) scored three times as 17 different players netted a goal in MSU's first shutout win since a 20-0 blanking of CCNY on April 6, 2002. The win was also Montclair State's seventh straight as MSU improved to 8-3 overall (1-0 Skyline).
Montclair, which did not allow a shot in the game to the Raptors scored eight times in the first quarter.
RICHIE LACHNER (Flemington, NJ / Hunterdon Central) scored the first goal 1:20 into the contest and Sinicola set up goals by
MIKE CORSETTO (Kinnelon, NJ / Kinnelon) and
MATTHEW PRONGAY (Edison, NJ/ Edison) before
MARC GUIDO (North Caldwell, NJ / West Essex) scored unassisted as the Red Hawks led 4-0 with 12:05 left in the opening period.
RYAN HANHART (Toms River, NJ / Toms River North) and
BRAD VAN KALSBECK (Lincoln Park, NJ / Boonton) scored 29 seconds part midway through the period to push the lead to 6-0.
DAN RAWSON (Vernon, NJ / Vernon Township) and
RYAN WORRALL (Plainsboro, NJ / West Windsor-Plainsboro North) rounded out the scoring as Montclair cruised the rest of the way.

CHRIS BACHMAN (Montville, NJ / Montville), Van Kalsbeck,
KYLE HEARN (Sussex, NJ / Vernon Township) and Chris Mullery (Clark, NJ / Arthur L. Johnson) all had two goals for the Red Hawks. Van Kalsbeck added three assists as did Bach and
JAMES CARBONELLO (Toms River, NJ / Toms River North). MSU amassed 22 assists on its 25 goals.
Adam Ahmad (Clifton, NJ / Clifton), who finished with a goal and two assists, won 14-of-16 faceoffes and added six ground balls. Lachner led MSU with seven while Rawson added five.
BRIAN JERNICK (Glenwood, NJ / Vernon Township) had three caused turnovers.
Goalkeepers
ANDREW ROSADO (Elmwood Park, NJ / St. Joseph's (Montvale)) and
MARK GLANDER (Vernon, NJ / Vernon Township) combined on the shutout with Glander playing the final 45 minutes.
The Red Hawks return to action on Wednesday, April 14 as they host Farmingdale State at Sprague Field beginning at 8:00 pm. The game is the back end of a men's and women's doubleheader as MSU will hold its annual "Lax for Autism" evening at Sprague Field.
