Montclair, NJ (4/28/08) – Senior midfielder TAYLOR BONNER (Old Bridge, NJ / Old Bridge) scored four goals and added two assists while TYLER METH (Basking Ridge, NJ / Ridge) added three goals and two assists as No. 17 and top-seeded Montclair State moved into the championship game of the Skyline Conference Men's Lacrosse Championship with a 13-9 victory over fourth-seeded Maritime College at Sprague Field on Wednesday evening.

RYAN KLOSS (Flemington, NJ / Hillsborough) had two goals and ROBERT SINICOLA (North Caldwell, NJ / West Essex) a goal and two assists as the Red Hawks ran their winning streak to 13 games while advancing to the championship game for the third consecutive season. MSU (14-3) will face No. 2 seeded Kean University for the third straight time with the conference's title and NCAA automatic bid on the line on Saturday, May 1 at Sprague Field beginning at 1:00 pm. Kean prevailed in the other semifinal on Wednesday, 9-7 against third-seeded Farmingdale State.

The Montclair State-Kean meeting will be the second this year as MSU posted a 7-6 win in Union on April 17. The two squads have alternated winning the last two Skyline crowns with Kean taking an 8-7 win in 2008 as they scored the last three goals. Last year, the Red Hawks returned the favor with a 7-6 triumph.

Junior attack Alexander Korb (Islip, NY / Islip) had five goals and two assists while Stephen Doherty (Yorktown, NY / Lakeland) scored three times and assisted on four others for the Privateers, who close out their season at 5-10.

The teams traded the first four goals of the contest as Kloss scored with 10:37 remaining before Korb netted the first of his five with 6:57 showing on the clock. Kloss connected again 39 seconds later but Doherty countered for Maritime tying the game at 2-2 with 5:34 to go.  MIKE CORSETTO (Kinnelon, NJ / Kinnelon) found Sinicola off a rebound shot 48 seconds later to spark and eight-goal run by the Red Hawks.

Bonner scored once more before the first quarter ended as MSU led 4-2. Meth tallied twice to open the second quarter and after as THOMAS RING (Nutley, NJ / Nutley) goal, Bonner connected twice followed by a Pat Nann (Livingston, NJ / Livingston) goal with 3:35 left as Montclair held a comfortable 10-2 lead at the break.

The Privateers came storming out in the second half, outscoring Montclair 5-0 in the period. Doherty netted the first 1:54 in and John Driscoll (Seaford, NY / Seaford) scored 17 seconds later for a 10-4 lead. Doherty and Korb combined on the next three, the final coming with a minute to go in the quarter as Maritime cut the deficit to 10-7 heading into the final period.

Montclair State would break the momentum in the fourth as Nann picked up a failed clear by the Privateers and pushed the ball ahead to Bonner who then found Meth in front of the net for the goals as MSU led 11-7 with 12:57 left. Defenseman ANTHONY DZIENKIEWICZ (Jackson, NJ / Jackson) then delivered the big play as he picked up another failed clear and raced down the field getting off a shot before being hit by two defenders. The shot would go in for the goal as Montclair led 12-7 with 11:19 on the clock.

Korb got his final goal with 10:06 left to get Maritime within 12-8, but Bonner's unassisted tally with 7:23 put the game away for the Red Hawks.

Senior goalkeeper ANDREW ROSADO (Elmwood Park, NJ / St. Joseph's (Montvale)) made six saves for MSU, which outshot Maritime 45-21, including 30-4 in the first half. Bonner added nine ground balls while MARC GUIDO (North Caldwell, NJ / West Essex) was 16-of-24 on faceoffs with eight ground balls. Defenseman PATRICK FERRY (Clifton, NJ /Clifton) added four ground balls and three caused turnovers.

Keith Messina (West Sayville, NY / Sayville) made seven saves in the second half for Maritime which got eight from Colin Gallagher (Minneapolis, MN / Westhill) in the first 30 minutes. Driscoll had four ground balls while Steven Tonn (Wantagh, NY / Wantagh) and Jonathan Miracolo (Hicksville, NY / Hicksville) had three apiece. T.J. Beaudette (Floral Park, NY / Floral Park Memorial) forced three turnovers.
