Kings Point, NY (9/1/10) - The Montclair State men's soccer team posted a 1-1 draw in its season opener with the United States Merchant Marine Academy on Wednesday.

The Red Hawks fell behind 1-0 in the 15th minute as the Mariners' Alex Maney scored off an assist from Dan Twitto.

That's the way the game stood until 6:07 before the half as LARRY GERAGHTY (Cranford, NJ / St. Benedict's Prep) knocked in a pass from MIKE PYTLAR (Califon, NJ / West Morris) knotting the game at 1-1.

Junior goalkeeper ANTHONY ROGIC (Boonton, NJ / Morris Catholic) made seven saves.

Montclair State returns to action this coming weekend as the Red Hawks travel to Williamsport, PA for the Lycoming Kickoff Classic. The Red Hawks will face host Lycoming in the opening round on Saturday, September 4 at 12:00 pm.
