Dana McNish (Hawthorne, NJ, Hawthorne) each added eight as Montclair State rolled to its fourth straight victory with a 3-0 win over William Paterson on Thursday.

Kaitlyn Irwin (Cranford, NJ, Cranford) added a team-best 18 digs as the Red Hawks upped their record to 12-6 overall, 3-2 in the NJAC as it downed its local rival for the third straight time. Montclair now leads the all-time series 17-16 and has won nine of the last 10 meetings.
Montclair put together another solid hitting night as MSU hit .309 for the evening making just 10 errors in 101 attempts. Over the last four matches the Red Hawks are hitting .319 with Matlock leading the way with a .406 efficiency during that span which includes Thursday night as she hit .455 (13-3-22).
Terpstra, who finished with 10 digs and a pair of service aces was good on 8-of-22 attempts without and error while McNish had eight kills in 13 attempts (.538). Setter
Angela Campo (Washington Township, NJ, Westwood) had 3 assists and four kills with
Samantha Szura (Hewitt, NJ, Ramapo) recording 13 digs.
MSU, which never trailed in the match, scored seven of the first 10 points of the opening set for a 7-3 lead. The Pioneers (12-5, 1-4 NJAC) got within 13-11 however Montclair would get a pair kills by McNish for some breathing room and later added a four-point run for a 21-13 lead on a kill by
Rebecca Matasker (Washington Township, NJ, Westwood), who made it 24-14 with another kill.
Leah Stine (Bridgewater, NJ, Bridgewater-Raritan) served up an ace to end the set as Montclair went up 1-0 with a 25-14 victory.
Montclair stormed out of the gate in the second set going up 12-1. A McNish kill extended the lead to 16-3 and a kill by Terpstra made the score 19-5. A small run by the Pioneers made the score 21-12 however Matasker had a kill and Red Hawks added the final three points for a 25-12 triumph.
Matasker served three straight points early in third for a 5-1 advantage that got to 14-8 on an error by WPU. Stine made it 20-11 with a kill and back-to-back points by Megan Cockcroft, including an ace, gave Montclair a 23-13 advantage.
The Red Hawks return to action on Tuesday, October 15 as it hosts Ramapo College at the Panzer Athletic Center at 7:00 pm. It will be Montclair's charity game for the 2013 campaign as MSU will donate the proceeds for the game to the
Sideout Foundation.
