Meet Results
Montclair, NJ – The Montclair State men's and women's swimming and diving teams each evened their records at 2-2 on Friday evening after the Red Hawks swept Drew University in a dual meet at the Panzer Athletic Center Pool.
The men downed the Rangers 144-86 while the women picked up a 144-112 decision.
Sophomore
Sydney Stein (Reistertown, MD, Owings Mills) one of several 1-2-3 finishes by Montclair State in the meet as she captured the 1000 freestyle with a time of 11:10.25.
Jessica Joseph (Brick, NJ, Brick Township) did the same with a win in the 50 breaststroke at 32.44 seconds and
Katherine LaCava (Milltown, NJ, Mount St. Mary's) led the way in the 100 butterfly coming in with a time of 1:03.60.
Tori Holtzberg (Ridgewood, NJ, Ridgewood) took top honors in the 50 freestyle and
Jackie Ubhaus (Jefferson Township, NJ, Jefferson) was a winner in the 100 breastroke clocking at 1:13.81.
Kelsie Donahue (Egg Harbor, NJ, Egg Harbor Township),
Gabriella Bosa (Freehold, NJ, Freehold Township),
Christine Werner (Livingston, NJ, Livingston) and
Julie Hansen (Berkeley Heights, NJ, Governor Livingston) combined to win the 200 medley relay in a time of 2:00.09 with Bosa , Hansen and Joseph teaming with
Alyson Gawin (Cochranville, PA, Octorara Area) to claim the 200 freestyle relay (1:46.96).
On the men's side,
David DuBois (Wayne, NJ, Wayne Valley) was victorious in the 50 breaststroke with a time of 29.71 seconds while
Joseph Berry (Edison, NJ, Edison) and
Michael Smith (Cherry Hill, NJ, Cherry Hill East) led a 1-2 finish in the 50 free with times of 22.90 and 23.47, respectively.
Brendon Burkett (Egg Harbor Township, NJ, Egg Harbor) and
Brian Ubhaus (Jefferson Township, NJ, Jefferson) did the same in the 100 free at 52.39 and 54.60 seconds. Ubhaus would add one more win in the 200 IM at 2:08.15.
Berry, DuBois,
Nick Kalafatis (Cranford, NJ, Cranford) and Smith teamed up to win the 200 medley relay in a time of 1:44.61 with Burkett, Kalafatis, Smith and Berry comprising the winning 200 freestyle relay quartet (1:33.23).
Both teams return to action next weekend as they head to Kutztown, PA. The women will compete in the Golden Bear Invitational while the men will take on Salisbury University in a dual meet.
