Newark, NJ – Junior guard John Snow poured in a career-high 27 points in just 25 minutes as Rutgers-Newark raced past Montclair State, 87-70, in a New Jersey Athletic Conference game in The Golden Dome Arena.

Snow posted his fourth 20-point game of the season by connecting on eight of nine shots from the floor – including three of four from beyond the arc – and eight of 10 free throws as the Scarlet Raiders (4-2, NJAC 1-1) led wire-to-wire.  A 3-point jumper by Snow gave Rutgers-Newark its biggest lead of the night at 72-43 with 9:19 left.

Junior forward Christian Garcia totaled 11 points, a game-high eight rebounds and five assists for the Raiders who also got a dozen points from junior guard Chris Foreman who came off the bench to drain all four of his shots from 3-point range as Rutgers-Newark pulled away to a 35-18 lead with 4:46 remaining in the opening period.

Junior guard Doze Ikwuegbu notched 11 points and six rebounds to help the Raider control the backboards, 34-23, while reserve forward David Azoroh added eight points.
