Wayne, NJ - The Montclair State women's soccer team, ranked 11th by D3Soccer.com, scored twice in the final 10 minutes as the Red Hawks pulled away from local rival William Paterson for a 4-1 NJAC victory on Wednesday evening.

Jessica Kiniery (Branchburg, NJ, Somerville) had two goals for Montclair State which improved to 8-0 on the season in its NJAC opener.

Allison Wacker (Stockholm, NJ, Wallkill Valley)put the Red Hawks on the scoreboard when her corner kick caromed off a Pioneer defender and skidded into the net in the 18th minute. Kiniery made it 2-0 20 minutes later. Senior goalkeeper Alyssa Falduto (Nutley, N.J./Nutley) came out to break up Kiniery's challenge in the middle of the six-yard box, but Kiniery tracked down the bouncing ball on the left side and scored to the near post.
Junior Alana Keffer (Point Pleasant, N.J./Point Pleasant Borough) was fouled in the box at the 61:40 mark, resulting in a penalty kick being awarded to the Pioneers. Senior back Nicole Sullivan (Jackson, N.J./Jackson Memorial) just clipped the inside of the left post, spinning the ball in for the first goal allowed this season by MSU snapping a scoreless streak of 691:40.
Now a 2-1 contest, the intensity picked up on both ends of the field for the next 20 minutes. Montclair State put the match away with a pair of strikes during an 82-second span. Junior
Melanie Greco (Bridgewater, NJ, Bridgewater-Raritan) maneuvered around a downed Falduto and finished to the right side in the 83rd minute, and Kiniery drilled a ball off the underside of the crossbar and into the left side netting at the 84:08 mark.
Falduto collected eight saves for WP. Junior
Gina Policastro (East Brunswick, NJ, East Brunswick) had one stop for MSU.
Montclair State returns to action on Saturday, September 28 when it hosts third-ranked The College of New Jersey at 6:00 pm.
