Glassboro, NJ – The Montclair State women's soccer team's 11-game winning streak is now a 12-game unbeaten streak as the No. 10/12 Red Hawks played to a 1-1 draw with Rowan University on Saturday evening.

Rowan scored just 2:44 into the match collecting the first goal against Montclair State since the second half of the season opener against Johns Hopkins on August 30, a span of 1,011 minutes. Melissa Kelly (Parsippany, NJ / DePaul) popped in a corner kick from Jess Durnian (Brick, NJ / Brick Township). It would be one three shots by the Profs in the first half. Meanwhile Montclair registered seven however none were able to get past Rowan keeper Carliegh Trivinio, who made four of her 11 saves in the first 45 minutes.
In the second half, Montclair State got the first two scoring chances of the half before capitalizing on the third as
Martina Landeka (Westfield, NJ, Westfield) tied the game knocking in a corner kick feed from
Erin Sullivan (Bridgewater, NJ, Bridgewatwer-Raritan).
In the first overtime, the Profs had a golden opportunity with just over two minutes remaining. Megan Carchidi took a crossing pass and drove in on a virtual breakaway against
Gina Policastro (East Brunswick, NJ, East Brunswick) with the latter coming out on a sliding stop to thwart that attempt before making another outstanding save on a follow-up shot by Kelly.
Montclair's
Francesca Gibson (Cape May, NJ, Lower Cape May Regional) had her shot in the closing minutes of the first overtime stopped by Trvinio, who also made two more in the second extra period.
Policastro finished with five saves for the Red Hawks, who outshot Rowan 18-12.
