Montclair, NJ - It's a first-place showdown in the New Jersey Athletic Conference standing as Montclair State and Rowan University battle at Sprague Field on Saturday. Kickoff for the key conference contest is set for 1:00 pm as both teams come into the game 3-0 in the NJAC.
Montclair State (5-1) stretched its winning streak to five games with a 28-7 Homecoming victory over The College of New Jersey at home last Saturday.

The Profs (4-2) remained beaten and gave head coach Jay Accorsi a milestone victory as the Profs shut down Morrisville State 31-0 at home last week. Accorsi picked up his 100th career victory as Rowan limited the Mustangs to just 227 total yards in posting the shutout. Running back Withler Marcelin led Rowan with 228 yards and two touchdowns on 36 carries. Quarterback Bill McCarty was 9-of-14 for 72 yards. Wide receiver Russ Forchion made four catches for 22 yards.Linebacker Darren Dungee had 11 tackles, while linebacker Tyler Jenkins contributed with six. Jenkins also registered two pass breakups and an interception.
