Montclair, NJ - After making its shortest road trip of the season, the Montclair State football team will look to extend its winning streak with its longest journey of the year as the Red Hawks head to Buena Vista, VA to face New Jersey Athletic Conference newcomer Southern Virginia.

Mike Borrelli (West Orange, NJ, Seton Hall Prep) however the Pioneers responded with a touchdown pass on its ensuing drive. A Williams' reception setup Nieves first TD to put Montclair back in front.
Allen Phillips (Kenilworth, NJ, David Brearley) came up with a sack in the end zone for a safety in the fourth quarter before Nieves added a two-yard run for the final margin.
Competing in its first New Jersey Athletic Conference game, Southern Virginia fell in overtime to Kean University by a 28-27 score last week. Down 21-14 with only 1:34 remaining in regulation, the Knights went down the field to tie it up at 21 with only 11 seconds remaining on a nine-yard pass from Mitch Stevenson to Michael Kilstrom to force overtime. In the overtime period, Kean took possession of the first drive and scored a touchdown. The Knights then took their opportunity and scored on a four-yard run by Jerry Washington, but kicker Kieren Phelps' extra point attempt was blocked.
