Garden City, NJ - The Montclair State women's swimming and diving team, ranked 28th by collegeswimming.com, picked up its first victory of the season as the Red Hawks knocked off Adelphi University on Saturday.
Junior
SYDNEY STEIN won a pair of events as MSU (1-2) defeated the Panthers 56-38. Meanwhile the Montclair State men (0-3) fell in their meet, 54-41.
Stein won both long distance freestyle events taking top honors in the 500 with a time of 5:25.19 and the 1000 in a time of 11:05.53.
KARA O'SULLIVAN was a winner in the 100 fly posting a time of 1:03.81 while
ALYSON GAWIN placed first in the 50 freestyle (26.22). Freshman
ERIN CANNON won the 100 backstroke in a time of 1:04.25 and
SAMANTHA DOWD won the 100 freestyle clocking in at 57.25 seconds.
For the men,
NICANDRO DONADIO was a winner in the 500 freestyle recording a time of 5:05.19 and freshman
DEVON D'AGOSTA was first in the 100 backstroke (56.28).
Montclair State returns to action on Friday, November 7 when it travels to Madison, NJ to face Drew University at 5:30 pm.
