Meet Results
Jersey City, NJ – The Montclair State men's and women's swimming and diving teams dropped a pair of dual meets each on Saturday as the Red Hawks fell to Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference opponents St. Peter's University and Manhattan College.
The Red Hawk women dropped to 2-4 on the season as it lost to St. Peter's 128-75 and Manhattan 108-95 while the men (1-5) fell to the Peacocks and Jaspers by scores of 155.5-73.5 and 153-84, respectively.
Junior
SYDNEY STEIN finished second in the 1000 freestyle posting a time of 11:07.88 and also placed third in the 500 freestyle (5:28.14).
ASHLEY SINGEWALD was fourth in the 1000 free with a time of 11:45.26.
KATHERINE LACAVA was third in both the 100 butterfly (1:03.80) and the 200 freestyle (2:05.99) with
KATHLEEN FRENCH Placing third in the 100 breaststroke recording a time of 1:11.76.
CHRISTINE WERNER was third in the 200 individual medley (2:23.43) with
JESSICA JOSEPH coming fourth in the 50 frees (27.08). Joseph also anchored the 400 freestyle relay team that placed second in a time of 3:57.08 as she was joined on the team by
SAMANTHA DOWD,
ALYSON GAWIN and
KARA O'SULLIVAN.
For the men, divers
SAMUEL MITCHELL and
GREG BAUWENS finished 1-2 in the 1-meter diving event. Mitchell posted a score of 136.65 points with Bauwens getting 128.35 points. Mitchell would also place second (185.95) in the 3-meter event with Bauwens coming in third (179.25).
Freshman
DEVON D'AGOSTA placed second in the 100 backstroke and also swam the anchor for the 400 freestyle relay team that finished in third place.
MARK DAWES,
BRENDAN TURNER and
ANDREW DAMATO joined D'Agosta for a time of 3:25.91. Donadio also had a pair of third-place finishes in the 1000 freestyle (10:23.13) and 500 freestyle (1:05.43).
Montclair State is now off until Friday, November 21 when it takes part in the Franklin & Marshall Invitational which runs through Sunday, November 23.
