MARK DAWES and
STEVEN ROTH each won two individual events as the Montclair State men's swimming and diving team knocked off Vassar College, 166-128 on Wednesday evening.
SAMUEL MITCHELL won both diving events as the Red Hawks improved to 3-8 winning for the second time in their last three outings.
KEVIN KOLESA led a 1-2-3 Red Hawk finish in the 1000 freestyle as he posted a winning time of 11:06.34.
BRIAN UBHAUS placed second (11:10.23) while
ALAN BUOB recorded a time of 11:11.50. Dawes picked up his first victory over the evening with a time of 1:52.89 in the 200 freestyle.
BRENDAN TURNER was second at 1:54.25.
Mitchell posted a score of 201.30 points to win the three-meter event before coming back to capture the one-meter with a near identical score of 201.80 points.
GREG BAUWENS finished third in both events with scored of 128.80 and 134.10 points, respectively.
Dawes his second win in the 100 freestyle posting a winning time of 51.09 seconds. Roth, swimming in his second meet for MSU, finished first in the 200 backstroke (2:03.76) and the 100 butterfly (54.26 seconds).
Dawes and Roth then combined with
DEVON D'AGOSTA and Turner to take top honors in the 400 freestyle relay as the quartet recorded a time of 3:22.51.
The Red Hawks are back in action on Saturday, January 24 when it travels to Mahwah, NJ to face Ramapo College in an NJAC dual meet at 2:00 pm.
