Annville, PA – The Montclair State volleyball team split their final two matches in the Dutchmen Quad held at Lebanon Valley College on Saturday. The Red Hawks (15-9) swept past Wilkes before falling in three sets to Elizabethtown College.
Courtney Matclock put down 15 kills and
MELISSA TERPSTRA 13 as MSU beat Wilkes 26-24, 25-14 and 25-22. Sophomore
MADISON MAUTE added 10 kills along with a pair of blocks while
KIMBERLY MATLOCK registered 41 assists.
DANIELLE OLCESE led Montclair with 22 digs while Terpstra and
ASHLEY GRIFFITH each recorded 15 digs.
Matlock and
NATALIA MAJKUT had seven kills apiece in the loss to Elizabethtown as the Blue Jays took the match 25-21, 25-17 and 25-17. Matlock had 18 assists while Terpstra and Olcese posted 10 digs each.
Montclair State returns to action on Tuesday, October 27 traveling to Jersey City, NJ to face New Jersey City University at 7:00 pm. With a win, Montclair would lock up the No. 2 seed and a first-round bye in the NJAC Tournament which begins on Tuesday, November 3.
