Woodland Park, NJ – The Montclair State women's cross country team picked up its first dual meet win in several years as the Red Hawks downed Felician College at the Garrett Mountain Reservation on Thursday.
The Red Hawks topped the Golden Eagles 24-35 in a battle of head coach John Brennan's old team versus his new team. Brennan spent 13 years as head coach of Felician before returning to his alma mater this Fall.
ALLISON MYCEK won the 4K race in a time of 16:14. Katie Hagerty was third in a time of 17:42 while
MIA TIGHE ran 17:52 to finish fifth in the individual standings. Katie Kreutz (18:30),
IMANI GOURDINE (18:33),
CAITLYN WALLACE (18:57) and
SAMANTHA NEWSHIWAT (19:24) finished seventh through 10
th, respectively.
The Red Hawks are scheduled to compete in the NJIT Invitational at Branch Brook Park in Newark, NJ on Sunday, November 8.
