Mahwah, NJ – The Montclair State men's basketball team suffered its second straight close loss as the Red Hawks fell at Ramapo College 85-81 on Saturday at the Bradley Center.

JORDAN ROBERSON each recorded double-doubles as the Red Hawks fell to 4-2 overall, 2-2 in the NJAC. Channer posted 25 points and 11 rebounds while Roberson got the first of his career with 17 points and team-best 12 assists.
MSU, which was coming off a three-point overtime loss at Rutgers-Newark on Wednesday, found itself down 41-31 at halftime and trailed by as many as 15 points early in the second half before battling back. A Josh Ford three-point put Montclair on the wrong side of a 57-42 deficit however the Red Hawks chipped away getting the score to 60-51 with 12 minutes remaining on a three by Channer. A three by
ERICK LOFTEN-HARRIS pulled Montclair State within 65-60 and back-to-back three-pointer by Channer with seven minutes to go gave MSU a 68-67 lead.
Channer's three with 5:35 remaining but MSU in front 71-70 however the Roadrunners scored the next six points take the lead for good. Frank Nock scored all six, tying the game with a free throw and then but Ramapo in front 74-71 with 4:59 left on the clock. He added a jumper a minute later making the score 76-71.
Montclair would get within 78-76 on a Loften-Harris three with 3:02 to go and Channer's three with 2:34 pulled the Red Hawks within 80-79. Ford answered for Ramapo at the other end with a jumper. MSU would miss two chances to tie or take the lead as shots from
SHAUN RUSSELL and Loften-Harris went off the mark. Thomas Bonacum hit a jumper for an 84—79 lead with 21 seconds.
Roberson scored with five seconds left with Christopher Mosley hitting a free throw in the last second for the final margin.
Loften-Harris finished with 16 points, three rebounds and six assists as Montclair State got 10 points from Russell.
JAQUAE WILSON had six points and six rebounds in a reserve role.
The Red Hawks will look to get back on the winning track Wednesday, December 9 when it hosts local and NJAC rival William Paterson at the Panzer Athletic Center beginning at 8:00 pm.
