Farmingdale, NY – Senior attack
TIERNEY CONLON scored four times and also assisted on another goal as Montclair State won its second straight, pulling away from Farmingdale State in a 12-6 victory on Tuesday afternoon.

ALEXA DIPIERO each collected a pair of goals as the Red Hawks got back to the .500 mark at 4-4. Christy Thoden scored a pair of goals for Farmingdale State (3-3).
In a game of scoring runs, the Red Hawks would get the first netting four in a row after the Rams grabbed a 1-0 lead. Conlon tied the game with 25:22 and DiPiero followed four minutes later with the go-ahead score. Colon tallied again with 15:10 to play in the first half as MSU led 4-1 after
SERENA HITCHINS recorded an unassisted goal with just over 12 minutes remaining.
Farmingdale's Kristen Ranaldo stopped the run with a goal 24 seconds after the HItchins marker however MSU would get the last one of the half as
AVIANA PARAGGIO connected with 28 seconds left giving Montclair a 5-2 advantage.
But the Rams quickly tied the game in the first 4:02 of the second half as Thoden scored twice with Kelly Geheran getting the equalizer for a 5-5 tie with 25:58 to go. Montclair then went on another run scoring six consecutive goals over a 22-minute span. Bussiere put MSU in front for good with her first of the game and Conlon followed 43 seconds later for a 7-5 lead. Conlon set up Verrone with 21:56 to play and Bussiere's second with 12:15 left boosted the lead to 9-5.
The game would go scoreless for the next nine minutes until Verrone scored with 3:24 remaining. Conlon capped the spurt with her fourth goal 34 seconds later widening the Red Hawks lead to 11-5. Alyssa Handel got one back for Farmingdale with 97 seconds left with DiPiero accounting for the final goal of the contest.

ALEXANDRA TEPPER finished with nine saves for Montclair State in addition to three ground balls and a caused turnover. Bussiere,
KASEY MAGUIRE, Conlon and
KARA CRAMPTON all had three ground balls with Conlon registering a pair of caused turnovers. Conlon, Verrone, Maguire and Paraggio all collected a pair of draw controls.
MSU improved to 10-4 all-time against the Rams. The two have met every year since joining the Skyline Conference together in 2006 and squared off in three conference championship games, including 2012 and 2013 before MSU left to become a full-time member of the New Jersey Athletic Conference.
Speaking of the NJAC, Montclair State will open its conference slate on Saturday, April 4 as it travels to Galloway Township, NJ to face Stockton University at 1:00 pm.
