Montclair, NJ - Former Montclair State All-American lacrosse player JENNA BUSSIERE has traded in her stick for a microphone.

The recently-graduated Bussiere is currently serving as an intern with the television show Extra and was among the mass of media members on hand for the 2015 ESPY® Awards held at the Nokia Theater in Los Angeles on July 15.

Bussiere was on the red carpet interviewing many of the sports celebrities on hand for the event including U.S. Women's National Team member Christen Press along with Monae Davis, the star of the 2014 Little League World Series.  Bussiere also was on the set of The Voice where she assisted producers in the compilation of the show's interview package with former American Idol contestant and recording star Adam Levine.

Bussiere earned her degree in Broadcasting along with a minor in Communication Studies from Montclair State in May and has produced several pieces during her undergraduate including pieces on the Red Hawk women's soccer and football teams that were featured on wiredjersey.com.

Bussiere capped off her outstanding career in 2015 where she was named to the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Association (IWLCA) Division III All-America Team becoming just the fourth player in program history to earn that honor. Named the NJAC Midfielder of the Year, she finished the season with 44 goals and 56 points along with a team best 52 draws.  Bussiere ranked fifth in the league in overall goals (2.67 per game) and seventh in overall points (3.40 per game). Against NJAC competition, Bussiere ended the league season ranked second in conference-only goals (3.67 per game) and seventh in conference-only points (4.50 per game).

Bussiere led the team with 52 draws and also had 23 ground balls and became the 18th player in program history to score 100 career goals.  She scored three times apiece in games against Muhlenberg and Brockport and had five goals in a 17-6 win over Stockton University on April 4. Bussiere scored three times in a win over Kean and had four goals and two assists as MSU edged Rowan 14-13, just the fourth time in program history that Montclair State had knocked off the Profs. She netted hat tricks against Ramapo and The College of New Jersey and tallied a season-high six goals in the win over Elmira before closing out her career with four goals and an assist and five draw controls against Rowan in the semifinals of the NJAC Tournament.
