JENNIE HORNSTRA scored a pair of goals as No. 25 Montclair State rolled to its sixth straight victory with a 4-0 triumph over New Jersey City University in the NJAC opener for both teams on Saturday.

MARTINA LANDEKA and sophomore
TYLER MADISON each had a goal as the Red Hawks upped their record to 6-1 overall, 1-0 in the NJAC topping the Gothic Knights for the 20
th in 22 all-time meetings. It was the fifth straight shutout versus NJCU for the Red Hawks and 14
th in those 22 contests.
Casey Lubonski stopped nine shots for the Gothic Knights (3-4-1, 0-1 NJAC), which had their two-game winning streak and three-match unbeaten streak halted with the loss. All four of NJCU's losses this year have come by the identical 4-0 score.
Montclair State needed just 15 seconds to add it its lead in the second half as Landeka connected with Hornstra off the opening kickoff. Hornstra drove in before unleashing a shot past Lubonski.
ERINNE FINLAYSON and
AMANDA VIETRI combined on the shutout for Montclair State, which registered its second straight clean sheet and third of the year.
Landeka put Montclair State on the board with her second goal of the year in the 18
th minute. Freshman
KASEY FINN dropped a pass in between the boxes where Landeka was able to knock it in for the 1-0 MSU advantage. Hornstra extended the lead four minutes later with her third goal of the year with Madison making it 3-0 in the 25
th minute.
Montclair State returns to action on Wednesday, September 23 with another conference contest. The Red Hawks travel to Galloway Township to face Stockton University at 7:00 pm.
