REBECCA MATASKER totaled eight kills in the first match while junior
MELISSA TERPSTRA had 10 kills and 22 digs in the second contest as Montclair State knocked off John Jay and Albright College in a tri-match at the Panzer Athletic Center on Saturday.
The Red Hawks improved to 3-0 on the year as they swept past John Jay 25-12, 25-10 and 25-17 in their first match of the day before beating Albright in four sets – 25-16, 13-25, 25-15, 25-16. It is the fourth time program history that Montclair has opened a season with three straight wins (1993, 1998, 2011, 2015).
Matasker was among the many contributors for Montclair against John Jay as the Red Hawks hit .315 for the match, including .391 during the second set in addition to tallying 15 service aces.

KIMBERLY MATLOCK and
NIKKI SENOPOULOS each served up three.
LILLIANA GONZALEZ and
DANIELLE MURRAY had five kills apiece while Senopoulos chipped in with four. Matlock had 15 assists with freshman Ashley Griffth adding 13.

COURTNEY MATLOCK led the Red Hawks with 12 kills and also served up five aces in the Albright victory.
MADISON MAUTE matched Terpstra with 10 kills with Maute adding two blocks. Terpstra, who also had three service aces, was one of four players to reach double digits in digs as Scanzillo had 19,
KIMBERLY MATLOCK 11 and Griffth 10.
MSU is back on the court on Wednesday, September 9 as it heads out on the road for the first time this season. Montclair will be at the Coles Sports Center for a 6:00 pm match with New York University.
