                     Montclair, NJ - Montclair State will look to keep its winning ways going as the Red Hawks make their longest trek of the year to Virginia to face Christopher Newport University.
The Red Hawks shut out Southern Virginia last week 17-0 behind a dominant running game and a defense that limited the Knights to just 157 total yards. 
JOHN DISTEFANO rushed 41 times for 175 yards and a touchdown while 
RYAN DELEON booted a 36-yard field goal. Linebacker Josh Betts punctuated the  game with a 30-yard fumble return for a score that came after 
FRANK GRECO forced the ball loose on a sack. 
JOE FALATO led the MSU defense with eight tackles, including 2 ½ for losses. 
VINCENT CORDASCO had seven tackles as did 
CHRIS CIMILLUCA and 
JABARI GARVIN.
Christopher Newport had last week off and will look to bounce back after falling to Rowan University 10-7 in Glassboro on October 1. Four turnovers proved costly for the Captains, who were kept off the scoreboard until 8:38 left in the third quarter. K.J. Kearney finished the game 21 of 37 for 205 yards with a touchdown and two picks and was also sacked four times by the Profs.
This will be the second meeting between the Red Hawks and Captains. Montclair State won the initial contest last season at Sprague Field 32-22 scoring 25 points in the second half to overcome a 15-point deficit at the half.
