Montclair, NJ – Senior forward
LUCAS TERCI registered his third hat trick of the season as Montclair State posted a 5-1 victory over Alfred University at MSU Soccer Park on Tuesday evening.

MIKE OLLA had a goal and three assists for the Red Hawks, who improved to 12-4-1 in their first meeting with the Saxons (7-6-2).
Alfred grabbed an early 1-0 as Kade McGarrity scored 83 seconds into the game. Montclair State responded three minutes later as Olla scored his ninth of the year off an assist from
STEVEN ZAMUDIO knotting up the contest.
Olla fed Terci for the go-ahead goal at the 9:17 mark and the two combined again on the next score with 22 minutes to play giving MSU a 3-1 advantage at halftime.
AARON ROSE scored 7:30 into the second half giving the Red Hawks a three-goal lead before Terci collected his third of game with 13:55 left. The goal was the 22
nd of the season for Terci, who now holds the second-best single-season goal total in MSU history. He also moved within two goals of the all-time MSU record with 57.
TAYLOR CULP and
MIKE SAALFRANK combined on the victory for Montclair with Saalfrank making one save. The Red Hawks outshot the Saxons 20-8.
Montclair State returns to action on Saturday, October 22 with a big NJAC matchup at first-place Rutgers-Newark beginning at 7:30 pm. MSU is currently locked in battle for one of the final tournament spots. The Red Hawks are currently tied with The College of New Jersey for fifth place in the standings, two points out of third and two points ahead of Ramapo and Stockton.
