BRANDON CHANNER had 19 points however Montclair State could not overcome an 11-point halftime deficit and fell to University of Scranton 70-61 at the Coliseo Roberto Clemente on Monday.

JUSTIN PORTER had nine points and six rebounds for the Red Hawks, who dipped back below the .500 mark at 4-5. The contest was Montclair's first in nine days. MSU will face Illinois College on Tuesday, December 20 at 4:00 pm.
Montclair never led in the contest and found itself down 9-7 with 14:22 left in the first half after
RAHSAAN JOHNSON connected on a jumper. However the Royals (8-2) scored the next five points to move in front 14-7 with just under seven minutes to go before halftime.
A three-pointer by
DANIEL RAMIS got the Red Hawks within 22-17 with 10:39 left but a 17-6 run over the next six minutes boosted Scranton's lead to 39-26 with four minutes to play.
The Royals took a 39-28 lead at the break and maintained the double-digit advantage throughout the second half until Channer's basket in the final seconds for final margin.
JOVANNI CHATHAM had six points and two rebounds while
ISAIAH CHANNER chipped in with six points.
