Bethlehem, PA – Senior BRANDON CHANNER scored a game-high 32 points however Cabrini University built a big lead in the second half and held off Montclair State 89-82 in the Greyhounds Classic at Moravian College on Friday evening.

DANIEL RAMIS connected four times from three-point range and finished with 12 points for the Red Hawks, who fell to 5-6 on the season The Cavaliers, who got 26 points and 12 rebounds from Tyheim Monroe, improved to 6-3.

Montclair held the lead just twice in the game, the last a 25-23 lead with 8:36 left in the first half after RAHSAAN JOHNSON connected on a short jumper. Deryl Bagwell answered with a three-pointer on the other end putting the Cavaliers in front as Cabrini got out to a 38-31 lead after Monroe hit twice from the line with 4:16 to go.

A Channer three-pointer with 2:18 to go pulled MSU within 41-40 however Ryan Charity answered on the next possession restoring the lead to three as Cabrini led 49-46 at the break.

The Cavaliers opened the second with a 14-2 run in the first six minutes ballooning the lead to 63-48. Ivan Robinson drilled a pair of three-pointers with Monroe capping off the run on a layup. Monroe gave Cabrini its largest lead at 70-53 on a free throw.

MSU would only get as close as seven points the rest of the way.

Johnson and JORDAN ROBERSON had nine points each for the Red Hawks with VINCE ANFIELD collecting eight along with four rebounds. Johnson and Roberson grabbed four and three caroms, respectively.

Montclair State takes on PSU Lehigh Valley in the Greyhounds Classic at 3:30 pm on Saturday afternoon.
