Brockport, NY – Jessica Boddery scored all three of her goals during a 12-score spurt by College at Brockport bridging the first and second halves as the Golden Eagles knocked off Montclair State 17-7 on Sunday afternoon.
Kelly Wall collected six goals for Brockport, which remained undefeated on the year at 6-0.
AVIANA PARAGGIO and
LINDSAY LARE each scored a pair of goals for Montclair State, which had its five-game winning streak snapped. The Red Hawks are now 6-2 on the year.
Wall scored three times staking Brockport to a 4-2 lead in the first eight minutes before Montclair countered with three in a row to take the lead. Lare scored with 19:25 left and Paraggio's goal tied the game near the midpoint of the first half.
CHELSEA ORBAN, who had four goals in the win on Saturday versus Fredonia, put Montclair in front 5-4 with 12:02 remaining.
Heather Conklin ended the run two minutes later igniting the 12-0 run by the Golden Eagles. Her goal with 10:02 tied the game and Wall's fourth gave Brockport at 6-5 lead at the break.
The run continued into the second half as Boddery Wall, Cassandra Minderd and Hannah Cullen each scored in the first five-plus minutes boosting the lead to 10-5. Boddery and Jillian Babinsky accounted for the next four scoring twice apiece, the final two with the Golden Eagles down a player for a 14-5 advantage. Cullen and Andre Zalinsky scored the final two goals.
GRACE CONLON put an end to the run with 4:59 to play on an unassisted tally.
FRANCESCA VERRONE had a goal, seven draws and a pair of caused turnovers for the Red Hawks with Lare and Conlon pulling down three draws apiece. Grave led MSU with four ground balls and goalkeeper
AMANDA MAGUIRE stopped eight shots.
MSU is now off until Saturday, April 1 when it hosts FDU-Florham at Sprague Field beginning at 1:00 pm.
