ASHLEY GRIFFITH registered her 3,000
th career assists highlighting Montclair State's split at the New York Regional Challenge on Saturday at Nazareth College.

NATALIA MAJKUT was named to the All-Tournament Team as the Red Hawks swept past host Nazareth before falling to University of Rochester in three sets to close out the regular season at 18-9.
Majkut posted 13 kills and freshman
CARLY WATERMAN added 12 as Montclair defeated the Golden Flyers (20-11) by scores of 26-24, 25-22 and 25-18. MSU trailed 24-22 in the opening set before ripping off four straight points.
After a service error by Nazareth, Waterman tied the score with a kill. Majkut and
SCHYLER WHITE came up with a block on the next point to give the Red Hawks the lead and the duo followed up with another on set point giving Montclair a 1-0 advantage.
Griffith, who finished with 29 assists in the match, collected her milestone mark late in the second set as she set up Majkut for a kill putting MSU in front 23-20. She joined Sharon Kaus (3,591 from 1997-00) and Angela Campo (3,427 from 2011-14) as the only players in program history to reach 3,000 career assists.
JILLIAN WILSON had eight kills with Griffith adding 10 digs and three kills. White led MSU with six blocks.
Majkut had six kills and freshman
LEAH HIGGINS five in the loss to Rochester (25-11, 25-22, 25-17). Griffith added 11 more assists to give her 3,021 for her career.
ALEXANDRA CAMPOS led MSU with eight digs.
Montclair State now turns its sight to the New Jersey Athletic Conference Volleyball Championship which gets underway on Tuesday, October 30. The Red Hawks, the No. 4 seed, host fifth-seeded Rutgers-Newark at the Panzer Athletic Center beginning at 7pm. MSU won the regular-season meeting between the teams 3-0 at home on October 16.
