Ewing, NJ – The Montclair State women's soccer team saw its 2018 season end on Wednesday evening as the fifth-seeded Red Hawks fell to top-seeded and No. 8 The College of New Jersey, 1-0 at Lions Stadium.

LINDSAY FREEWALT made three saves as the Red Hawks closed out their season at 10-4-5.
Scoreless through the first half, TCNJ (12-1-1) would break the tie early in the second half. Randi Smith sent a cross from the right sideline to the center where Nikki Butler was able to head the pass in for her seventh goal of the season at the 53:43 mark.
The Lions outshot Montclair State 14-4 in the contest, including 10-1 in the second half.
