Camden, NJ – The Montclair State women's soccer team opened up its NJAC scheduled with a 1-1 draw at Rutgers-Camden on Saturday afternoon.

EMILY BEENDERS scored for the fifth straight contest netting her seventh goal of the year as the Red Hawks moved to 4-0-2 on the year (0-0-1 NJAC).
Montclair State held a 3-2 lead in shots during the half however neither team could find the back of the net. The pace picked up in the second half however the contest was still scoreless until the 76
th minute when MSU finally broke through.
MICHAELA KNOBLOCK sprung Beenders down the left side before the latter angled in the goal giving MSU a 1-0 lead. That would be short-lived as the Raptors pressured forcing a corner kick. Sarah Zuzulock dropped her serve into the box where freshman Ava Pizzaro finished off the feed knotting the contest at 1-1 with 10:57 remaining.
Both teams had scoring chances in overtime, with Eberhardt making four saves, including rushing out of the box near the final horn to stuff a point-blank shot by Beenders.
MSU finished with its 16-10 advantage in shots and a 7-1 margin in corner kicks.
LINDSAY FREEWALT made four saves for the Red Hawks.
Montclair State returns to action on Wednesday, September 19 traveling to Poughkeepsie, NY for a 4:00 pm matchup at Vassar College.
