New York, NY – The Montclair State volleyball team swept a tri-match at Baruch College on Saturday as the Red Hawks knocked off the host Bearcats 3-0 before recording a four-set win against St. Joseph's (LI).
SARAH GONCZLIK and
SCHYLER WHITE had seven kills apiece as Montclair (10-5) defeated Baruch 25-15, 25-21, 25-19. Freshman
LEAH HIGGINS recorded 11 kills and five aces as MSU took the first two sets against the Golden Eagles 25-12 and 25-7. After dropping the third 25-23, the Red Hawks closed out the match with a 25-19 win in the fourth.
CAITLIN LANGE had five kills against Baruch with
JILLIAN WILSON and
CARLY WATERMAN totaling four apiece. Sophomore
MEGAN O'ROURKE had 18 assists and eight digs with
ASHLEY GRIFFITH picking up nine assists.
SIYARA HERBERT put three kills and 11 digs and libero
ALEXANDRA CAMPOS served four aces in addition to posting a team-best 17 digs.
NATALIA MAJKUT put up eight kills with Waterman and Wilson getting seven and five respectively. Griffith added to her daily total with 38 assists along with six digs. Campos had another double-digit performance with 14 digs.
Montclair State is back in action on Tuesday, October 2 heading to Mahwah, NJ to face Ramapo College at 7pm.
