Montclair, NJ – Senior midfielder
RAFAEL TERCI scored a pair of goals as Montclair State put together another dominant performance in a 4-0 victory over Hunter College at MSU Soccer Park on Monday afternoon.
STEFAN KOROMAN and
CHAZ BURNETT each added a goal as the Red Hawks (3-0-1) extended their winning streak to three. Montclair, which outshot the Hunter (1-2) 26-2 in the game, has outscored its opponents 20-0 the last three contests.
Koroman gave the Red Hawks a 1-0 lead in the first two minutes of the contest as he collected his first of the season off an assist from
JAKE SEAMAN. Terci extended the lead to two four minutes later with the first of his two goals.
Montclair State led 2-0 at the half and quickly added to it early in the second. Terci connected again for his fourth tally of the season in the 49
th minute. Burnett capped the scoring with 4:33 left finishing off a feed from
NIXON SOGLO.
Senior goalkeeper
MIKE SAALFRANK recorded his first solo shutout of the season after splitting time in the previous two contests. Noah Dougherty stopped 10 shots for Hunter.
The Red Hawks are back in action on Saturday, September 8 with a big early-season test. Montclair State hosts defending NCAA Division III national champion Messiah College at MSU Soccer Park. Kickoff is scheduled for 6:00 pm.
