Montclair, NJ - The Montclair State women's soccer team downed Ramapo 8-0 on Saturday afternoon to remain unbeaten in conference play. The Red Hawks (8-4-2, 4-0-1) scored five goals in the second half to continue its domination of the Roadrunners.
The Red Hawks opened the scoring in the 14th minute when freshman
SAMANTHA SENATORE buried a shot in the bottom right corner. Fellow classman
TORI ROLLS earned the assist on the play.
MSU would strike twice within a minute to give them a 3-0 lead at the half. Senatore and Rolls combined for their second goal of the day as
EMILY BEENDERS found the back of the net 40 seconds later for the 3-0 advantage at halftime.
Rolls scored her first goal of the day only one minute into the second half, giving the Red Hawks a 4-0 lead.
Beenders would net her second goal in the 55th minute during the high scoring affair.
LINDSAY BATHMANN,
GABBY D'EMILIO and
KAITLYN SCRIVANICH scored the final goals for the Red Hawks. Scrivanich and D'Emilio each added assists in the win.
MSU outshot the Roadrunners (4-6-1, 0-3-1) 25-3 in the victory.
The Red Hawks return to MSU Soccer Park on Monday evening and will face Staten Island at 7 p.m.
