TORI ROLLS tallied a hat trick to give Montclair a 3-0 win over Rutgers-Newark on Friday night. The Red Hawks (7-3-2, 3-0-1) handed the Scarlet Raiders (6-5-1, 0-2-1) its first home loss since early September.
MSU remains unbeaten in the NJAC and put seven of its 14 shots on target.
PHOEBE BLEDSOE made five saves to pick up the shutout.
The Red Hawks broke the game open in the 29th minute when Rolls ripped a shot from just inside the penalty area for the game's first goal.
In the second half, Rolls would strike two more times, first in the 58th minute when she lofted a shot into the back of the net. Rolls completed the hat trick by finishing off a pass from
MACKENZIE CANGRO.
MSU will return to action on Sunday when they travel to Radnor, PA to square off against Cabrini at 1:00 p.m.
