Montclair, NJ – Sophomore guard
KIM CALLOWAY scored 16 points as Montclair State knocked off Rowan University for the second time this season, 69-55 at the Panzer Athletic Center on Saturday afternoon.

ALEX MCKINNON finished with 11 points and four rebounds for the Red Hawks (14-8, 10-5 NJAC) who moved within a game of the Profs (13-9, 11-4 NJAC) for second place in the conference standings.
Nicole Byrne had 13 points for Rowan, which lost its second straight following a six-game winning streak.
The Profs' Ayanna Johnson collected her team's first four points giving the visitors an early 4-2 lead. Montclair answered with an 11-0 run over the next three minutes.
DOMONIQUE WIRSING tied the score and Carys MacLelland gave MSU the lead with a layup. McKinnon drained a three points making the score 9-4 and baskets by Calloway and
TAYLOR BROWN staked MSU to a 13-4 lead with 4:17 left in the opening period.
Montclair led 15-11 after the first and widened that lead to 20-11 early in the second on a basket by MacLelland and three by Calloway with 8:42 remaining. Brown's three-pointer with four minutes left pushed the advantage to double-digits, 25-15 before Rowan closed out the half with a 9-2 run pulling within 27-24 at the half.
Wirsing began the second half with a three-point play increasing the lead to seven. Dominique Peters' jumper with 8:16 left got Rowan within 30-28 however Montclair State outscored the Profs 25-11 the rest of the way. McKinnon led the way with eight points while Calloway collected five. The Red Hawks shot 7-of-11 from the field, including 3-of-5 from three-point range during the run. Calloway finished its off with a layup as Montclair State led 55-37 heading into the fourth.
JULIA SUTTON gave MSU its largest lead in the fourth, sinking a three with 7:35 remaining for a 60-39 advantage. Rowan would make a run to get within 65-55 with 1:33 left but Calloway ended any
comeback attempt with a layup.
Brown finished with nine points and six rebounds while MacLelland added eight points and seven rebounds. Wirsing and Sutton each had nine points with
KAYLA BUSH contributing five points and five rebounds in a reserve role.
Montclair State returns to action on Wednesday, February 6 taking to the road for a 6pm match with Rutgers-Newark in the Golden Dome.
